Emphasis on the need to provide understanding on the history of Islam based on the right knowledge and fact in education must be in line with the effective and appropriate method of teaching that is suitable to the current development. Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, made the remarks during the Opening Ceremony for Islamic History Education National Seminar 2018, yesterday afternoon.
Pengiran Dato also explained that in realising the aspiration, relevant authorities particularly the Curriculum Section, Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Curriculum Development Department, Ministry of Education need to jointly review and provide an added value to such matter.
The forum session titled "Pelaksanaan Pengajaran Sejarah Islam di Institusi Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam: Pemacu Masa Depan Gemilang", was delivered by three panellists. The national seminar was organised in collaboration between the Education Faculty, Usuluddin Faculty of KUPU SB and the History Centre. Themed 'Memartabatkan Pendidikan Sejarah Islam di Institusi Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam', the objective of the seminar was to discuss the concept and goal of Islamic history education as well as debating on the priority and importance of Islamic history education towards the development of the Islamic culture and civilisation.
