The Brunei National Road Safety Council (MKKJR) also held an exhibition during the Honda Day Brunei 2018, organised by the Carfest Event Management. MKKJR’s participation was its continuous initiative in enhancing the public awareness on road safety particularly towards providing exposure on the function and methods for using seat belts as well as safe car tyres.
Driver and passengers, including back seat passengers are urged to use the seat for children while on the road, even for a short distance journey. Drivers and passengers who failed to wear seat belt are facing the consequences of serious injury and death in car accidents. It is important to know that WHO research show that by wearing seat belt, the driver and front passenger are enhancing safety level by 50 percent.
The dissemination campaign by MKKJR also demonstrated “Seat Belt Convincer”, which allows the public to experience the impact and effect from accident at the rate of under 20 kilometre per hour. MKKJR will continue its dissemination campaign from time-to-time, towards enhancing the public awareness on the important of road safety. MKKJR also urged all drivers to adhere to the road traffic regulations towards ensuring the safety, well-being and comfort of the public, specifically road users.
