A company conducting commercial activities in Kampung Telisai, Tutong was issued a compound fine of two hundred dollars under the Minor Offences Act, Chapter 30, which is the dumping of rubbish, boxes and wooden materials in a public area.

Syarikat 88 Charcoal was given 7 days from the date of issue to settle the compound. In default, the company would be brought to court and if found guilty could be fined one thousand dollars ($1000.00) for the first offence. The penalty would be three thousand dollars ($3000.00) and imprisonment of not more than 3 months for the second and subsequent offences. The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation also reminds individuals, members of the public and companies to keep the environment clean and safe.
