A delegation of members of the Legislative Council yesterday morning made a working visit to Telekom Brunei Berhad, TelBru to take a closer look on services offered by the local telecommunication provider companies.

The working visit also provides opportunity to members of the Legislative Council to know more on issues pertaining to telecommunication services in the country as preparation for a Dialogue Session between members of the Legislative Council with the Ministry of Communication in November. The visitors made a first stop at Telbru Tarining Centre in Berakas. At the centre the delegation heard a briefing on Fibre-to-the-Home, FTTH and viewed an exhibition on Metro-E and Fixed Wireless Connectivity. At present, the FTTH network coverage is some 86-thousand households and businesses. Of the number, 59-thousand FTTH lines are ready to serve the public for the High Speed Broadband service. The delegation then visited the TelHouse in Sumbiling, Bandar Seri Begawan to take a closer look on the Network Operation Centre, NOC and Telbru Call Centre.
