Training undertaken by male and female recruits of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces has helped to shape them in becoming disciplined people, responsible, trustworthy, integrity, and full of patriotism. This is in line with the aspiration of His Majesty to see the career in military as an interesting and attractive preference for the young people.

The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious affairs said. The recruits are accountable for their religious obligations to Allah Subhanahu Wataala, and their duty to the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof made the remarks at the Passing out Parade for the 162nd Male Recruits Intake and the 54th Female Recruits Intake. The Permanent Secretary added that long-lasting peace can help the country to generate progressive and dynamic growth and development.

Also present at the occasion was Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Recruit Awang Mohd Ali bin Emran and Recruit Dayang Nurain binti Mohd Sallih outshined their peers as the Best Overall Recruits. The Best in Military Skills went to Recruit Awang Khalid bin Haji Yussof and Recruit Dayangku Ummi Ramizah binti Pengiran Haji Jeludin. Recruit Awang Muhammad Syazwan bin Mahni Azizan and Recruit Dayang Nur Ezzah Ezzaty binti Mohammad Hirmy grabbed the title as the Best in Small Arms. The Best Small Arms Shooters was Recruit Awangku Mohd Hamizan bin Pengiran Haji Gazali. The Best in Physical Training were Recruit Awang Muhammad Muiz bin Rafiuddin and Recruit Dayang Nurul Asilah binti Zulkibli. Meanwhile, Corporal Mahdini bin Osli and Corporal Nurul Suriyana binti Haji Serbini were chosen as the best Male and Female Instructors. While Bintara Himran bin Haji Awang Hassan and Norbaya binti Haji Abdul Hadi were the Best Platoon Sergeants. 158 male recruits had undergone 31 weeks of military training, and it was 21 weeks for the female recruits.
