In an effort to promote traditional music between Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the country and Kris Karmila Creation (creative theme), with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, have organized the Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia Traditional Music Workshop. The 2-day workshop is being held at the Indonesia Embassy Building in Jalan Kebangsaan.

23 participants from Brunei Darussalam and 18 from Indonesia are attending the workshop. Participants were exposed to basic knowledge on the history of traditional music and were introduced to traditional musical instruments gulintangan, angklung and gamelan. They also had the opportunity to join practical lessons in using musical instruments from both countries. The workshop gives the participants the opportunity to understand the traditional music art of both countries.
