The Ministry of Health has used the world Cancer Day celebration every year as a platform to raise the public’s awareness and knowledge on the prevention, control and treatment of cancer.
This was shared by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health at the World Cancer Congress Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Minister of Health also stated that the ministry’s commitment in continuing efforts to raise public awareness, reduce risk factors as well as providing effective treatment and care for cancer by involving other government agencies, private sector and non-government organisations.
The biennial World Cancer Congress is an international conference to exchange knowledge and best practices among cancer control and public health experts. It aims to strengthen the national, regional and international action plans through the latest effective intervention programmes in cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care.
The Minister of Health and delegation also held a bilateral meeting with Yang Berhormat Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health of Malaysia to exchange information as well as discuss cooperation ties in the field of health.
