The history of the country on life, race and nation is vital as through history, society will know themselves better. This was shared during the History Discussion Session organised by the Brunei History Centre with the cooperation of the Brunei History Association, PESEBAR. This morning's session targeted officers of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as well as teachers and students from the Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School and the Meragang Sixth Form Centre.
The session is a part of the Program Mendekati Sejarah or Getting Closer to History program, towards an in-depth study of local history. Associate Professor Doctor Haji Awang Asbol bin Haji Mail from University Brunei Darussalam, UBD shared on the Impact of the Seven Network Report on the Formation of the Brunei Constitution 1959.
Meanwhile, Doctor Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong, Senior Special Duties Officer at the Malay Islamic Monarchy Executive Council Secretariat Office, touched on the history of the Brunei Constitution based on knowledge, experience, documents and interviews with several Brunei leaders involved in the process of forming the Brunei Constitution.
