The Brunei History Centre, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has organised a programme aimed at giving a deeper understanding of history called "Program Mendekati Sejarah 2018" literally meaning "Getting Closer to History Programme 2018". Intended to provide education and knowledge on the country's history to the public, it will be on until 1st October.

The programme themed "Melestari Sejarah Melalui Seni Kreatif", or "Preserving History through Creative Arts", aims to instill and strenghten love and loyalty to the monarch, religion and the nation. The objective of the programme is to promote history to the society, through creative arts such as photography, drawing, calligraphy and others.

Meanwhile the Brunei History Centre is also opening gallery exhibitions to the public every day, beginning at 8 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon, except Fridays and public holidays. There will be 5 zones and the gallery is also opened every Sunday to enliven the 'Bandarku Ceria' programme from 7 in the morning until 12 noon.
