In conjunction with the 25th Civil Service Day, the Public Service Department yesterday afternoon held a Tahlil Ceremony for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit. The ceremony took place at the Royal Mausoleum.
In attendance was Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail, the Chairman of the Public Service Commission and Awang Haji Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, as Chairman for the celebration’s Executive Committee. The reading of Tahlil was led by Mudim Haji Metassim bin Haji Metusin, Imam of the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque. More than 200 public servants attended the ceremony. This year’s celebration carries the theme “Transformasi ke arah perkhidmatan awam yang progresif” or “Transformation towards a progressive public service.”
