The Mini Fisheries Carnival 2018 is now taking place at the Fish Landing Complex in Muara. The 4-day complex is organised by the Fisheries Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism and fishery entrepreneurs in the country.
The carnival is joined by various fishery sectors including the fish and prawn aquaculture. Apart from freshly caught seafood products such as fish, prawn, crab and squid, various fishery products including fish crackers, belacan or shrimp paste and dried fish are also being sold at reasonable prices. The carnival is open to the public from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon. According to the Assistant Fishery Officer, the mini carnival is the Fishery’s Department’s initiative in assisting fishery entrepreneurs to showcase their product to the public.
