His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office last night watched the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 match between Brunei Darussalam and Timor Leste. The match took place at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
Also present were His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam, NFABD as well as other members of the Royal Family.
In the first half, the Brunei Darussalam National team in yellow dominated the match. An early free-kick attempt by Muhamad Azwan Ali Rahman early in the match, however, failed to find the back of the net. Timor Leste in red also had several chances of their own, but both teams go into the half-time break tied goalless.
In the second half, both teams continued to exchange attacks. Brunei Darussalam finally took advantage of their opportunities in the 74th minute, with Mohammad Najib Tarif's goal giving the national team a 1-nil lead. The final score, Brunei Darussalam - 1, Timor Leste - nil. Despite winning the match, Brunei Darussalam will not advance to the group stage for the championship's 12th edition.
