To strengthen the students' mastery and skills in the use of Standard Malay Language are among the objective of the Third "Tuturan Pelajar" Malay Language Forum. The final was held yesterday morning at Dewan Raya, Radio Television Brunei in the capital.

According to Awang Mohammad Jais bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Acting Director of Co-Curriculum Education as joint-chairperson, nine secondary school, college, sixth form centre and Institute of Brunei Technical Education took part in the preliminary round. Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School emerged champion, while Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School came in second and Sayyidina Hussain Secondary School placed third. Meanwhile, Muhammad Safwan bin Azmi was selected as best chairman and Nursyafiqah Izzati Binti Abdullah Aiddey as best panelist.

Prizes were handed over by Dayang Nadia Lee Siew Hoon Binti Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education. The competition was jointly organised by the Anti-Corruption Bureau and Akli Unit, Co-Curriculum Education Department in collaboration with Radio Television Brunei.
