In several days, Brunei Darussalam will celebrate the New Year of Hijrah 1440. Therefore, as Muslims, we must be mindful that the Islamic New Year should be celebrated, and the month of Muharram will be a good opportunity to renew one's resolution, faith and piety towards Allah Subhanahu Wataala. This was among the content of the 'Tazkirah Subuh' or dawn talk during the 'Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat' programme early yesterday morning.
Present among the congregants were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Communications; and Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also in attendance was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar; Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. The talk titled 'A New You, Road to 1440 Hijrah' was delivered by Awang Muhammad Fatin Abdul Rahman bin Kifli, a certified Daie from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council. This week the programme was conducted by the Minister of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade with the support of the Prime Minister's Office.
