As part of measures to increase the knowledge and skills of the country's tourist guides, the Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism in collaboration with the Department of State Protocol has organised a briefing on the Adat Istiadat Negara or State Protocol of Brunei Darussalam. 40 licensed tourist guides attended the briefing which took place at the Department of State Protocol in Bandar Seri Begawan.

During the session, the tourist guides were briefed on the Lapau Building and Adat Istiadat DiRaja or Royal Protocol and well as Adat Istiadat KeBruneian or the Bruneian Protocol by the representatives of the Department of State Protocol. The briefing was intended to enable the guides to provide accurate and correct information to tourists visiting the country, especially those concerning State Protocol and the Islamic Malay Monarchy or MIB practice and way of life.
