The Brunei Halal Showcase, BruHAS 2018, is hoped will be able to achieve its objective in developing and expanding the local halal industry by increasing awareness among the public of the latest halal industry development and academic research on Halalan Thaiyyiban products to support macro, small and medium entrepreneurs to become internationally competitive through market connectivity. With the theme 'Developing the Halalan Thayyiban Industry towards Achieving the 2035 National Vision', the 5-day Showcase is held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Dr Hajah Mas Noraini binti Haji Mohiddin, Dean of Syariah and Law Faculty of University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali who is also the co-chairperson of BruHAS in her remarks also stressed on Brunei Darussalam's effort in developing and expanding its local halal industry beside exposing local halal products and services.
The showcase, organised by the Ministry of Energy (Manpower and Industry) and Industry, was officially launched by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Mohd Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry.
A Keynote presentation on the 'Halalan Thaiyyiban Industry as a Catalyst of a Zikir Nation' was delivered by Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Jaapar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, Deputy State Mufti. Also in-attendance were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Dato Seri Paduka Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy, (Energy and Manpower) and Industry. The showcase also features the 2nd halalan Thaiyyiban Product and Service Expo which is participated by more than 100 macro, small and medium entrepreneurs as well as international companies from the food and beverage sector, pharmaceuticals,comestic and personal care, modest fashion and service sectors. Apart from that the 3rd International Seminar on Halalan Thaiyyiban Product and Services, Halal Business Investment Seminar, BruHAS Clinic and the business networking matching session will also be held. The showcase is opened to members of the public starting 9 in the morning until 9 in the evening.
