Following the wide spread in the media social of reports purportedly saying that that fragrant rice contains high level of "neonicotinoids", the Ministry of Health would like to clarify that the report is not true.
In a media release issued yesterday evening, the ministry said that it had never issued such information. The fake news had used the Ministry of Health's logo and website with the intention of duping the public to believe that it was an official notification. On the same note, the Ministry of Health through the Treasury Department would like to clarify that every batch of imported rice is accompanied by the Phytosanitary Certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Cambodia; and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Bangkok, Thailand; as well as a Certificate of Quality. The public is advised not to easily believe such fake news. For more information, the public can visit the website 'www.moh.gov.bn', or contact the Darussalam Line: 123.
