Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD's Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Ministry of Education have co-organised the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance, AUN-QA Training Course for Accomplishing Programme Assessment. The opening Ceremony for the training was held yesterday morning at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences, UBD.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education. Earlier, Doctor Masitah Shahril, Chairperson of the AUN-QA Training Course for Accomplishing Programme Assessment (tier 1), in her welcoming remarks said that the training course provides an opportunity for higher education institutions to improve the quality of teaching and learning at the programme levels and improve their academic programmes in achieving the AUN-QA certification. The training and accreditation will help ensure that the programmes stay relevant with increasing demands for good quality higher education by students and society.
Associate Professor Doctor Nantana Gajaseni, Acting Chairperson of AUN-QA Council in her opening remarks said that this training aims to introduce the AUN-QA system and enhance the quality assurance system in universities in this country. A total of 29 participants from 8 higher education institutions in the country are participating in the training course which ends on Friday. Also present was Datin Doktor Dayang Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, the Vice Chancellor of UBD.
