In conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week celebrated every 1st of August, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital yesterday morning held a Presentation of Nursing or Breastfeeding Covers. Such an activity was one of the Ministry of Health's initiative in upholding and supporting the welfare and protection of babies and children's health through breastfeeding.

The presentation of nursing covers to mothers at the centre was officiated by Datin Doctor Hajah Noraslinah binti Haji Ramlee, the wife of the Minister of Health and Yang Berhormat Dayang Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii, Member of the Legislative Council. The distribution of nursing covers is hoped to encourage the practice of breastfeeding as well as providing comfort and privacy to nursing mothers at any time.

A demonstration on the usage of nursing covers by the hospital's staff was also held, followed by mass 'breastfeeding wave' whereby the mothers gathered to breastfeed their babies. This year's World Breastfeeding Week theme, 'Breastfeeding: Foundation of Life', highlights the importance of breastfeeding as a sustainable and healthy practice to ascertain every infant has the best start in life.
