The Design Students Academy or DeSA Exhibition is hoped to build student portfolios to a professional level in order to fulfil the requirements of industries related to the Diploma in Architecture and Diploma in Interior Design. The three day exhibition which started yesterday organised by Politeknik Brunei. Located at the Lobby of the Ministry of Development, it also opens up employment opportunities for the students with the presence of agencies and experts in related fields.

The exhibition was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development. The function ran concurrently with the presentation of certificates of excellence to 10 students. Selection for exhibit was made through the criteria of creativity, improvement and student performance as well as its efficacy on religion, culture, environment and innovation. Also present were Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, Permanent Secretary for Technical and Professional and Dayang Doctor Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Acting Permanent Secretary for Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Development.

This year, 46 final year students of the 5th intake undertaking Level 5 Diploma in Architecture and Level 5 Diploma in Interior Design are showcasing their creative works as well as 12 students from the 6th and 7th intake. The final year project exhibition topic covers residence, commercial and recreation in the Temburong District namely the Bangar, Batang Duri and Labu Estate areas. The exhibition is open to the public from 9 in the morning to 4.30 in the afternoon except for Friday 27th July, when it will be closed from 12 noon until 2 in the afternoon.
