The Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA as a knowledge centre of high quality expertise and credibility, should become a pillar of the Wawasan 2035 in producing successful, educated, highly-skilled and accomplished people among the country's citizens. This can be achieved by thorough or holistic application of Islamic values. The Rector of UNISSA said that as an Islamic university, the institution is an advocator of the Islamic component which is the primary foundation of the Malay Islamic Monarchy concept. UNISSA is also a catalyst towards realising the "Negara Zikir" aspiration, apart from being responsible in building the ummah in line with the belief of the Ahli Sunnah Waljama'ah.
Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal underscored the matter at the Enrolment and Oath-Taking Ceremony for new students of the 2018/2019 session. The Rector added that it is UNISSA's aim to produce outstanding graduates who possess diverse as well as outstanding skills and capabilities.
391 students were accepted by UNISSA. They will undergo the Post-graduate, Bachelor's Degree and Diploma courses. The number of admission shows a 10-percent increase from last year. The ensuing UNISSA Ta'aruf Week provides opportunity for the students to undergo various programs, including exposure to academic courses they have chosen.
