In efforts to develop youth in the country, the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam always provide high attention through the continuous Capacity Development programme, infrastructure facilities, and physical assistance. Aside from that, the National Youth Day also acts as a platform for youth to organise a special gathering to appreciate contribution in the youth development. The matter was among touched yesterday by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports at a media conference in conjunction with this year's 13th National Youth Day celebration.

Datin Paduka Doctor Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil said that youth is an important asset to the country and a main mechanism or machinery for movement, in order to determine the direction of a country. She also added that the country is putting hope to youth as for them to focus on the country's vision and making Brunei Darussalam as a developing country. 0'35"

The 13th National Youth Day will be held on Wednesday, at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre in Berakas. This year's concept focussing on leadership and entrepreneurship with a theme 'Belia Pemacu Brunei Maju'. Several programmes are lined-up in the celebration such as the Excellent Youth Day Award, Youth Service Award, Young Youth Leader Award and Youth Award for Excellent Project as well as Youth Assembly. 0'50"
