His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan And Yang Di-Pertuan Of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam graced another Banquet last night in conjunction with His Majesty's 72nd Birthday.

The ceremony held at Istana Nurul Iman was for security forces, uniformed officers as well as uniformed civilian organisations.

Also present were:

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel;

- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Norhayati; and...

- Her Royal Highness Princess 'Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah

Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam; and other members of the Royal family.

Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

The Banquet was attended by nearly 6 thousand security and uniformed personnel as well as uniformed civilian organisations.

At the banquet, His Majesty mingled and received junjung ziarah from the personnel attending the banquet. His Majesty firstly received junjung ziarah from officers and personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. His Majesty is the Minister of Defence and the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Accompanying His Majesty were:

Similar to other countries, peace and security of a country are the main responsibilities hold by the security forces including the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. In the country, RBAF holds major responsibility and trust implemented for protecting the country from irresponsible elements. His Majesty in a titah in conjunction with the 57th RBAF's Anniversary recently, reminded the main task of RBAF to protect the country as it is the responsibility and trust that are need to be implemented with prudent.

His Majesty, who is also the Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force, also received junjung ziarah from officers and personnel of the Royal Brunei Police Force. Over 9 decades of its establishment, the Royal Brunei Police Force strive to enhance its services with quality in line with the development and changes of time. The Royal Brunei Police Force continues to design various initiatives to further develop its services to the public to together ensuring the country's security and stabilization whilst facing a more challenging role in the globalization era and world without boundary.

The Uniformed Government Forces and Enforcement Agencies also play their role in protecting the country's peace and tranquillity as well as its well-being. A solid cooperation amongst the government uniformed officers and personnel are vital to ensure the government is capable to continue in contributing excellent services to the country and tackling various security and emergency scenarios which are in the need of integrated and strategic responses.

His Majesty also received Junjung Ziarah from the Uniformed Volunteer Organisations such as the forces cadets, police, fire and rescue, Red Crescent, Scout and Girl Guide Associations. In the country, His Majesty is also seen as a booster in the field of voluntarism which the Monarch confident that more youths are exposed with voluntarism which will inject awareness to young generation to be more aware on the fate of children who are in need.

Majority, member of the uniformed association and youth associations in the country are from the youth group. The group always receive attention from the Monarch through His Majesty's titah that calls upon the youth towards improvement and government's programmes to facilitate the youth's development as well as identity in various levels in the country.

By involving youth in the country's development towards the Wawasan Negara 2035 which will be carried out by the young generation so as not to be left behind in any country's development efforts is the government priority in the field of youth. It is in line with the country's hope that needs the young generation to stand out with confident in leading the development and coinciding with His Majesty's desire to see the youth's quality and be self-reliant apart from to fill the time with beneficial activities. As stressed by the Monarch in the 12th National Youth Day, awareness in religion, family, society and nation need to be owned by the youth in the country.

The trainees of the National Service Programme, PKBN, were also have the opportunity to greet His Majesty. The programme which is hoped to develop potential and nurture excellent qualities in youth is among the programme that receive highly attention from His Majesty. This can be seen through His Majesty's arrival in every Passing-Out Parade of PKBN. During the Passing Out Parade of the 7th Intake of the PKBN recently, His Majesty stresses that a country's progress is often linked to the development of human capital because human capital is the core of any effort to accomplish transformation towards change. Hence, this is the moment for the country to focus on the development of excellent human capital such as through PKBN.

In the banquet, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam also received junjung ziarah from officers and personnel of the Royal Gurka Rifles. This portrayed a unique ties between Brunei Darussalam and the United Kingdom based on trust, respect and close cooperation in various fields apart from as an appreciation to the Gurkha rifles based in Seria for the service provided since 1962. This is in line with the country's desire in the international arena to continue practising mutual respect with other countries.

The banquet was a golden opportunity for the attendees to mingle and greet as well as convey Birthday wishes to His Majesty aside from receiving appreciation from His Majesty on their important role and responsibility in preserving security and peace as well as the well-being of the country, citizen and resident in the country.
