His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, this afternoon watched the Polo Tournament in conjunction with His Majesty's 72nd birthday anniversary. The tournament which is in its second day yesterday took place at the Royal Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong.
His Majesty's son and daughter, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen; and Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, joining the Brunei Darussalam team, won with 8 - 4 and a half in 4 Chukkas against the Malaysia team.
Also watching the match were His Majesty's brothers, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen scored one goal in the first chukka and added three more goals in the third chukka.
Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah also scored one goal in the third chukka.
Earlier, Singapore in white jerseys defeated Philippines with 7-3 in 4 Chukkas. In attendance to watch the match were His Majesty's son, daughter and brother His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah. Brunei Darussalam will meet Singapore in the final this Friday. The tournament is organised by the Royal Brunei Polo Association.
