His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam today graced the Polo Tournament in conjunction with His Majesty's 72nd Birthday anniversary. The tournament was held yesterday afternoon at the Royal Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong.

His Majesty's son and daughter, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen and Her Royal Highness Princess Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, played for Brunei Darussalam. In the match, Brunei Darussalam beat the Pakistan Team by 10 to 4 and a half goals in 4 chukkas.

Present to watch the match were His Majesty's brothers: His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah scored a goal in the first chukka.

During the interval, after the 1st chukka, His Majesty received a pasambah from Dato Mohamad Moiz bin Jabar Mohamad Ali Moiz, the President of Royal Selangor Polo Club.

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen scored a goal in the second chukka.

Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Nikmatul Bolkiah scored two more goals in the third and fourth chukka.

Earlier, the Singapore team in white defeated Malaysia team by 6 to 5 and a half goals in 4 chukkas. Present to watch the match were His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah. The Polo Tournament in conjunction with His Majesty's 72nd Birthday anniversary started today and will end on Friday. It is organised by Royal Brunei Polo Association.
