ASEAN member countries will be participating in the ASEAN Public Toilet Award 2019 which will be held in January next year during the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019 at Ha Long Bay, Vietnam. As preparation, Brunei Darussalam as the 'Lead Coordinator' for the ASEAN Public Toilet Standard through the Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Primary Resources organized the 2nd ASEAN Public Toilet Auditor Training at the Horticulture Business Centre in Rimba, Gadong.

The training was participated by representatives from ASEAN Member states as well as government agencies. The training covering theory and practical sessions aims to introduce the methodology and key requirements for the assessment of public toilets to be in compliance with the ASEAN Public Toilet Standard. Present to handover certificates to participants was Yang Mulia Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.

In relation with the initiative to tackle public toilet cleanliness, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism in cooperation with several government agencies continue to create awareness and monitor previously graded public toilet owners/managers and work with them to continue maintaining standard level of cleanliness at their facilities.
