The Commercial Crime Section of the Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force with Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam, AMBD, yesterday afternoon held a briefing on the Brunei Darussalam currency to shop owners and staff at Abdul Razak Complex, The Mall and The Centrepoint. The briefing, which was part of the 'Know the Country's Currency Campaign' , took place at the Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong.
In attendance were Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Haji Mohd Hassan bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, and Dayang Rina Hayane binti Haji Sumardi, Acting Executive Director of AMBD's Monetary Management. The campaign's objective was to share knowledge pertaining to methods in tackling crimes that are often reported, increase the public's knowledge on the country's currency and actions that should be taken upon encountering fake currency. The Royal Brunei Police Force also reminded companies and associations to install high-quality CCTV at locations where transactions take place for safety purposes.
