The Authority for Info-Communications and Technology Industry, AiTi and Telecommunication Services providers are working together to address the hoax call issue following complaints from the public.

As part of AiTi's efforts to protect consumer interests, advises subscribers to alert their respective telecommunications service provider such as DSTCare at 151, Progresif Customer Care at 177 or TelBru Customer Care at 111 should they receive any suspicious calls. AiTi also reminds the public never to give their personal details over the phone. If any subscribers have given their personal details to what they believe is a hoax call, it is encouraged that they contact the Royal Brunei Police Force to lodge an official report.
