The Hari Raya holidays are used by Muslims to celebrate the feast of victory in the villages and towns. For those who visit their relatives in Temburong District, there are two ways to do so, which is by using the waterway and land route.

People who wish to visit relatives and friends either from Temburong to Bandar Seri Begawan or vice versa can use water taxis which take less than 45 minutes compared to plying the land route which takes much longer.

Using the land route, passing through Limbang using the Brunei-Malaysia Friendship Bridge provides greater convenience to the road-users. The bridge enhances travelling on land and benefits both countries in the economic and tourism areas. Previously Bruneians and Malaysians would take at least two hours to cross Sungai Pandaruan using the ferry service. These days the new bridge cuts the travelling time to only a few minutes.

Like elsewhere, the residents of Temburong District celebrate Hari Raya AidilFitri, welcoming and entertaining relatives and friends for near and far. Reciprocal visits are the normal practice during the festive season because such encounters help to enhance relations among Muslims and also non-Muslims.

Think 'Hari Raya AidilFitri' and among the attractions that come to mind would be the variety of cakes, biscuits and other types of sweets and drinks served to the guests. Today, the trend is the so-called open houses which serve either lunch or dinner. During such occasions, families and friends would gather and the sweet and cheerful voices of young children would enliven the gatherings further.
