Muslims in the country are fasting in the third week of Ramadhan and the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremonies are being held actively by various parties. Yesterday afternoon, 72 Brunei Muara District youth participated in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with the 72nd Birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony was organised by STKRJ Kampung Lambak Kiri Mosque Takmir Committee and Muslimah Group with the cooperation of the Mosque Affairs Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The function was attended by Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Apart from enlivening His Majesty's Birtdhay anniversary through the mosques and religious activities, the ceremony also aimed to develop strong spirit and courage among the youth and provide them with Al-Quran knowledge and skills for guidance based on the teachings of the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah. This is in line with the vision of Brunei Darussalam as the Zikir Nation.
