Glorifying the houses of Allah with the mass prayers at mosques is the act of 'ubudiah' or servants of Allah the Almighty, specifically performing mass prayers at all mosques, suraus and religious halls during the month full of blessings and forgiveness from Allah the Almighty, which is the month of Ramadan. In this regard, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has organised the Mass Friday Subuh Prayer in Ramadhan 1439 Hijrah Programme. The programme is held every Friday throughout the month of Ramadan nationwide with focus on several selected mosques.
In the Brunei Muara District, the programme was held this morning at the Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampung Kiarong. Among the congregantS was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs. The programme began with a mass Subuh prayer, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Kahfi. The ceremony coincided with the Tadabbur Al-Quran programme from Surah Al-Kahfi which was delivered by Awang Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak, Qualified Da'ie of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB. Also present were Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Awang Roslan bin Haji Taja'ah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awang Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Religious and Policy at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
In the Belait District, a similar programme was held at the Zainab mosque in Lumut. The programme among other things aimed to enhance awareness and understanding on performing the mass prayers. Present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid Bin Momin, Member of the Legislative Council.
Meanwhile, in the Tutong District, the programme was held at the Hassanal Bolkiah mosque in the Tutong town. Present was Awang Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, the Acting Tutong District Officer. The programme began a mass Subuh prayer followed by the reading of Surah Al-Kahfi. Tadabbur Al-Quran on the benefit of reading Surah Al-Kahfi was delivered by Awang Haji Masri bin Haji Mohammad, Tutong District Mosque Affairs Officer. Among the benefits in reading Surah Al-Kahfi on Friday is receiving forgiveness between Fridays.
The Mohd Salleh Main Mosque in Bangar town became the focal point of the programme in the Temburong District. Also lined-up in the programme were mass Subuh prayer and the reading of Surah Al-Kahfi. A dawn talk which was delivered by Awang Jamil bin Haji Ghani, the Head Temburong Religious Officer, touched on several verses from Tadabbur Surah Al Kahfi which tells the story of Yajuj and Majuj as well as the fortress built by Dzulkarnain. Present was Captain Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar, Camp Commandant of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces in Bangar.
