Residents of Kampung Bukit Panggal and its surrounding areas will have its new mosque which is estimated to be completed its construction in July this year. The foundation laying ceremony for the new mosque was held yesterday morning.
Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as President of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB). The construction of 3 million dollars mosque on a five acre site constructed using the allocation from the Brunei Darussalam Mosque Construction Fund.
The mosque will be able to accommodate 600 congregants. Among the facilities included Lecture Room, Information Technology and Library, Administration Office, Imam and Bilal Office and separate special needs male and female ablution places as well as funeral rite room.
Also present were Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs as the Vice President of MUIB, and Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Salim bin Haji Besar, Chief Syar'ie Judge as the member of MUIB.
