The Kampong Ayer Police Station of the Brunei Muara District Police had received information from the public at around 2.25 yesterday afternoon regarding a capsized boat at the waters of the Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas Eco Corridor in Sungai Kedayan in the capital.

In the incident, a permanent resident man, aged 41, went missing after he was believed to have gone for a speedy trial of a racing boat. Initial investigation showed that the victim's boat had crashed into one of the bridge pillar, causing the boat to capsize. The Royal Brunei Police Force advises passengers the importance of wearing a life jacket aboard water transportation vessel regardless of the distance.
