The Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School yesterday morning held the Surah Yasin Memorisation competition and its interpretations and the Khat or Jawi Calligraphy competition. The competitions were held in conjunction with the Isra' Mi'raj celebration and to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

The Surah Yasin Memorisation competition was divided into 2 categories namely the 'Alif' and 'Ba' category for the school's Year 6 pupils. The competition was organised by the school's Al-Quran, At-Tarbiyyah Ad-Diniyyah and Khat Department and aimed to polish the pupils' talents and abilities in the field of memorisation.

Meanwhile, the Jawi Calligraphy competition was held for the school's Year 5 pupils. The competition was held to inculcate a sense of love for Jawi Calligraphy and to understand and appreciate the teachings of Islam.
