The Department of Economic Planning and Development (JPKE), Prime Minister's Office with the cooperation of the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism have set the ceiling prices on several selected food items in conjunction with this year's festive season.
The setting of maximum prices on the selected food items will begin on 1st Ramadhan until 7th Syawal 1439 Hijrah. Its objective is to control the prices of selected food items in particular those used as the main ingredients for the preparation of food during the festive season. The selected food items are whole chicken; eggs; butter; margarine; ghee; condensed, evaporated and cream milk; flour; chocolate hazelnut spread; condensed, cream and powdered coconut milk; chilli shrimp floss; and popia skin.
The public is advised to practice the concept of "Smart Consumer" that is to compare prices before making any purchase in order to get the best and worthy price.
