The Ministry of Defence this morning received a farewell call from Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim, the Former Chief of Defence Force, Singapore Armed Forces. Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim is in Brunei Darussalam on a 2-day farewell visit.

Upon arrival at Bolkiah Garisson Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim was greeted by a guard of honour mounted by the personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF. Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim's visit underscores the bilateral defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore that has developed and strengthened under his leadership and contributions.

Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim first made a farewell call on Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Second Minister of Defence. During the visit, both parties reaffirmed the continuation of the strong relations between the defence and military institutions in the fields of training, courses, interactions and professional exchanges as well as bilateral and multi-directional exercises.

Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim then made a farewell call to First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Acting Commander of the RBAF. Lieutenant General Dato Paduka Seri Perry Lim has handed over his duties as Chief of Defence Force to Major General Melvyn Ong on the 23rd of March 2018.
