His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam arrived in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia yesterday afternoon.

Accompanying His Majesty and Her Majesty are His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Present at Soekarno Hatta Airport to welcome His Majesty and Her Majesty and the Royal Families were His Excellency Retired General Dr. H. Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Senior Officials from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade; His Excellency Brigadier General (Rtd.) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Yussof bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Indonesia, and wife.

Upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty were presented with a bouquet of flowers, and then walked past a Static Guard of Honour. His Majesty and Her Majesty later boarded a motorcade towards a renowned hotel in Jakarta where Their Majesties would be residing throughout the duration of the State Visit.

The diplomatic relations of Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia was established in 1984, and since then both countries have enjoyed the growing cooperation primarily in economic and trade cooperation, as well as in the field of defence, education and agriculture. The relations were further strengthen with His Majesty's State Visits to the Republic as well as State Visits of President of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam.
