Education and training for employment such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET has been one of the priority areas of the SEAMEO and ASEAN member countries as reflected in the fourth priority of SEAMEO and fourth Strategy of ASEAN. The member countries believe that through access to quality TVET, students and trainees will be equipped with the necessary skills to enter the labour market and addressing the issue of unemployment and enhance economic and social development. This was mentioned during the regional forum on 'Good Practices in Teaching-Learning Approaches for Preparing Youth for Employment' yesterday morning.

Among those present was His Excellency Peter Wolff, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Brunei Darussalam. The forum took place at SEAMEO VOCTECH in Gadong. The forum stated one of the key aspects in education and training is the quality of teaching and learning that continuously explores and enhances towards improving the transfer of knowledge, skills and attitudes that eventually can improve their job performance in the workplace.
