The opening of the Maxillofacial, Facial and Reconstructive Surgery Centre, MFPRSC, is a step forward in achieving the Wawasan Negara 2035. One of the core values of the centre is to ensure efficient delivery of care and services to the patients. Only by being patient-oriented can we achieve excellence and have the drive to be innovative. The Second Minister of Finance believed that by doing so, it will not only raise the quality of life in the country, it will also help diversity the available services and create new job opportunities, whilst enhancing the skills of the people. This was stated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah during the centre's opening ceremony.
Earlier, Doctor Awang Mazrul Admin bin Awang Besar, Head of the Maxillofacial, Facial and Reconstructive Surgery Centre said the centre will continue to strive towards improving its quality of service and infrastructure for patients and staff in the years to come.
Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Jaafar, Minister of Health as Deputy Chairman of Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, and Dato Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister of Finance. The centre is located adjacent to the Radiology Department of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital. Since its establishment, over 500 operations have been carried out including cancer cases. The centre will also continue to expand its scope of services including the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology.
