An abandoned baby boy has been found alive in a toilet at the Jerudong fish market. The Royal Brunei Police has reported a case of an abandoned baby boy. According to the police they received a telephone call about the baby from the public at around ten past eleven this morning. A Paramedic team was also at the scene and brought the little boy to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital in the capital for further medical examination.
The examination established that the baby was alive but had difficulty breathing. The baby boy weighing 1.08 kilograms was confirmed born prematurely. The child has been placed under intensive care and further monitoring at the hospital. The Community Development Department, JAPEM has also been informed for arrangements on the baby's welfare.
