The Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB continues it mission to enhance the standard of living of the Asnaf Fakir Miskin or the poor and destitute in the country. This afternoon, the council presented a multi-purpose mower to a recipient of the Zakat or tithe at a ceremony which took place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The mower and some basic food supply were handed over to Awang Khairul 'izzat bin Abdullah by Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sabtu, the Acting Secretary of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB. The funds for the purchase of the mower totalling four hundred twenty dollars and twenty cents ($420.50) came from the Tithe Funds for the Poor and Destitute. It is hoped the aid would help improve the life of Awang Khairul 'izzat, his wife and their 7 children who are from Kampung Setia 'B' in Kampong Ayer. The 41 year-old head of family expressed the hope that the community would use his service to cut the grass at their premises.
