His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to His Excellency Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of the Republic of Singapore and His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, as well as the Government and people of the Republic of Singapore on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Singapore.
In his congratulatory message to His Excellency Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of the Republic of Singapore, His Majesty was delighted to accept His Excellency's invitation to visit Singapore, where it has given His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the special and unique ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and its people. Furthermore, His Majesty looked forward to continuing and deepening this close collaboration between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore in the years ahead.
Meanwhile, in a similar message to His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, His Majesty expressed his appreciation for the kind reception and generous hospitality His Excellency and Madam Ho Ching have rendered to His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri during their State Visit to Singapore which reflect the close and long-standing relations enjoyed by the people at all levels and in many different areas. His Majesty looked forward to continue working with His Excellency to strengthen these much-valued and important ties, bilaterally and regionally, especially as Singapore assumes Chairmanship of ASEAN next year.
In ending the messages to His Excellency Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam and His Excellency Lee Hsien Loong, His Majesty expressed his kindest regards and best wishes to Their Excellencies and families as well as for their continued good health and happiness.
