Ten youths, representing the country in the Brunei Darussalam-Republic of Korea Youth Exchange Programme, departed the country yesterday. The 10-day programme which starts today included visits to several youth centres in the republic apart from homestays with foster families.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell was Haji Zafri bin Haji Mohamed, Acting Director of Youth and Sports. Throughout the programme, the delegation will attend an orientation session, visits to MBC World, ASEAN-Korea centre, the National Museum and make a courtesy call to the Minister for Gender Equality and Family in Seoul. In an interview with RTB, Haji Mohd Sofian bin Haji Amit, Youth Centre Coordinator as the Delegation's Head explained that the Youth Exchange Programme between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea was signed under the Memorandum of Understanding in 2009 aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries. The programme is also hoped to enhance understanding and trust of both countries through the participation of youths in the programme.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Nuriskandar bin Mohd Hasnan as the Head of Youth in an interview with RTB, hopes that through such an effort will bring benefit and can be adapted together with other youths in the country.
