The Brunei Darussalam Islamic Investment Summit 2017 enables speakers, panellists and participants the opportunity to deliberate on emerging issues including the promotion of social and responsible values, innovations in Sukuk and the digitalisation of Islamic Finance.

The two-day summit is contributing positively towards the further enrichment of Islamic Finance industry both nationally and internationally. In the afternoon session, among the working papers addressed was on 'Shariah and the Contemporary Challenges in Finance: Implications For Brunei Darussalam', which was delivered by Yang Berbahagia Datuk Doktor Mohd Daud bin Bakar, Founder and Group Chairman of Amanie Advisors, Malaysia who among others outlined that the age of digitalisation has come and the banks and finance institutions have to be ready to digitalise some of the banking operations, application form, credit assessment, the management of default payment and the business plan. Among those present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs, who is also the Deputy Chairman of AMBD's Board of Directors.
