Haj and Umrah Discussion

Issues on regulations that arose while performing haj and umrah during the 1440 and 1443 Hijrah haj seasons were discussed during the 30th Haj and Umrah Instructor Discussion. The discussion held by the Haj Management Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs took place yesterday morning at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Over 100 people attended the Muzakarah comprising haj and umrah course instructors, religious school supervising teachers, as well as officers and staff from 12 ministries.

The Muzakarah also discussed the real and current situation in the Holy Land especially in ‘Arafah and Mina, such as services, management and facilities provided by the relevant parties in Saudi Arabia as well as Haj and Umrah operators. The Muzakarah also included a working paper presentation by two presenters from the State Mufti Department, Prime Minister’s Office.

Blood Donation Campaign Helps Those in Need

The Blood Donation Campaign organised by The Royal Thai Embassy provided an opportunity for the Thai community in the country to repay the kind hospitality they experienced throughout their stay in Brunei Darussalam. 53 pints of blood was collected during a Blood Donation Drive which took place yesterday morning at the Blood Donation Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital.

Her Excellency Boosara Kanchanalai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand in an interview shared that the blood donation drive aimed to replenish the country’s blood reserve.

The blood donation campaign also provided an opportunity for the Thai communities in the country to help those in need.

Certificate Presentation and Muzakarah Resolution

The Haj Management Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs will continue to strive in propagating knowledge on overseeing rituals of Haj pilgrimage and address issues that arose pertaining Haj. Speaking at the Certificate Presentation Ceremony and Haj and Umrah Instructor Muzakarah Resolution on Haj and Umrah, 1444 Hijrah/2023, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs called on stakeholders to enhance cooperation especially in planning innovative methods and programmes using attractive as well as suitable approaches for Haj course instructors including officers, higher education institution students and the public.

Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan also reminded haj and umrah instructors to channel knowledge on performing haj and umrah, its benefits and haj manners. The function took place yesterday afternoon at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs said the said knowledge will prepare the intending haj pilgrims mentally, physically and mentally so that they can perform haj that is accepted by Allah.

The function continued with a working paper presentation titled ‘Kelebihan Menghadapi Cabaran Perlaksanaan Ibadat Haji’, delivered by Awang Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam, Head of Communication Unit, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA. This was followed by the presentation of the Haj and Umrah Instructor Muzakarah Resolution, which underlined a number of matters in performing haj and oversee rituals of haj pilgrimage performed by women, as well as a certificate presentation ceremony.
