Reopening Of Children Care Centres

 

26 of the 45 Children Care Centres registered with the Department of Community Development, JAPEM resumed operations yesterday with 30 percent capacity at one time. The reopening of the care centre aims to provide an opportunity for working parents to send their children to be cared for during working hours. Only children aged 2 and above are allowed to be sent to the centre with the focus on child care only for morning and afternoon sessions or according to days with the main conditions and Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs set by the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Health and JAPEM.

 

The main conditions imposed on the care centre, Parents and staff must complete 2 doses of vaccination as well as have a green or yellow BruHealth code and proof of vaccination confirmation must be shown; conduct ART screening once a week for parents and staff including support staff; While children must undergo ART using ‘saliva swab samples’. Only individuals with negative ART results were allowed into the centre and individuals with symptoms and high risk are not allowed; Premises must have adequate ventilation with the installation of a “Hepa Filter” AND Premise owners must comply with the general guidelines of the Ministry of Health for each staff and children aged 2 and above at all times.

Second Stage of Religious School Session

 

Some 7,954 students began their Second Stage of religious school session yesterday comprising Primary 5 and 6 students nationwide.

 

At the Second Stage, the ART was conducted at their respective secondary schools. In this regard, the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Department of Islamic Studies provided a special form for the school’s verification on the test result conducted. Approved forms will be used to enable students to attend the face-to-face five days a week lessons at religious schools. Meanwhile, students who are not attending school physically, will join the online learning sessions or will be given Home Learning Packs, HLPs.

Opening Of Second Stage Schooling Session

 

The physically teaching and learning session for the Second Stage of the Early Endemic Phase also started yesterday in the Belait District, Tutong District and Temburong District. Several preparations have been lined up and planned by adhering to the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health.

 

At the Sultan Hassan Bangar Secondary School, Temburong, the session was observed by Doctor Shamsiah Zuraini Kenchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education. To ensure the students’ health and well-being, the Standard Operating Procedures implemented include body temperature checks, the use of hand sanitizers, wearing face masks and 1-metre distancing for each table inside the classroom.

 

Meanwhile, the RTB crew also made took a closer look at Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School in Lumut, yesterday morning.  All students are required to take the ART prior to starting their lessons.

 

At Sayyidina Othman Secondary School in Tutong, Years 7 to 9 students also began their face-to-face teaching and learning session. Briefing on health’s guidelines were also held at their respective classrooms.

20 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed yesterday bringing the total number of cases to 15,901. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter during the Media Conference on the Latest COVID-19 Situation held at Dewan Al ‘Afiah, Ministry of Health yesterday afternoon. According to the Minister of Health, of the total, 15 are local cases while 5 are import cases. The number of new cases is from 967 laboratory tests carried out. Therefore, the rate of positive cases is 1.6 percent. Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre, one case is in Category 4 requires oxygen assistance and under close monitoring. 28 cases have recovered, bringing the total recovered cases to 15,452 with 347 active cases. The Minister of Health also shared on the accomplishments of the National Vaccination Programme as of the 16th of January 2022.

 

The overall population rate who have received at least one dose of the vaccine is 94.7 percent. Meanwhile, the rate of those who have received two doses is 93.8 percent; while 33.1 percent have received three doses of the vaccine. The Ministry of Health also shared the results of a research that has been carried out in which between 9th to 15th of January 2022, there is no mukim with more than 40 cases, in which 19 mukims or 48.7 percent had between 1 to 40 cases. 20 mukims or 51.3 percent had zero cases. Meanwhile, the movement restriction carried out from 10 at night to 4 in the morning, one violation of the directive was recorded.

Royal Regalia and Decorations Are Set Up

As the beating of the Nakara reverberated during the ‘Majlis Istiadat Membuka Gendang Jaga-Jaga’ at the Lapau in Bandar Seri Begawan, yesterday morning, the Royal Regalia and Decorations were also set up at the Balai-Balai Pemajangan at Istana Nurul Iman and Darussidiq in Jerudong.
