Reading of Surah Yasin and Doa

 

The Kampung Danau Mosque Youth Group held the first virtual Reading of Surah Yasin and Doa to Seek Protection from COVID-19.

 

Among those joining the event was Awang Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs. The ceremony aimed to educate the youth to do more religious activities aside from instilling noble values. The virtual event included a talk titled ‘Youth Loves Rasulullah’.

TUTONGCare Charity Project and Initiative

The TUTONGCare Charity Project and Initiative is established to show appreciation to frontliners who are fighting against COVID-19 in the country by providing the public to opportunity to donate.

 

TUTONGCare Charity Project and Initiative is a combination of three projects that are implemented simultaneously, involving a number of agencies, volunteers and youth movement in Tutong District. It is carried out in collaboration with the Tutong District Creative and Development Body; Tutong District Volunteers or SUKA; Village Consultative Councils and the IMPAK Tutong Youth Movement. Awang Mohammad Adi Asnawi bin Awang Adanan, Special Duties Officer at Tutong District Office as Co-Chairman of TUTONGCare Charity Project and Initiative hoped the project can strengthen cooperation with Village Consultative Councils to alleviate the burden of expenses. So far, the project has received encouraging response, and hopes it can sustain with the public’s support.

 

Members of the public who wish to donate items such as face masks and others, donation drop-offs can be made during working hours which is from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon at the Tutong District Office’s Old Building at Jalan Enchi Awang. Meanwhile, donations for clothes can be made at the SUKA Building Drop Point in Jalan Sungai Basong.

Emergency Call Statistics

 

The Fire and Rescue Department received 4,542 emergency calls nationwide from January to September 2021. 119 emergency calls were received for structure fires in all districts.

 

Meanwhile, the Fire and Rescue Department also received 41 emergency calls involving house and building fires with estimated loss of over 12 million dollars.

 

In this regard, the Fire and Rescue Department has implemented a number of initiatives in tackling and reducing rate of loss due to fire by organising the Public Awareness Programme and awarding the Communities Excellence Award.

 

The Fire and Rescue Department also advised the public to equip their home or premise with fire extinguisher. If there is any leak on the LPG component, open windows and door for ventilation. The public is also advised not to leave cooking unattended; not to overload; and electrical wiring maintenance must be done by certified companies.

 

The Fire and Rescue Department also recorded 528 emergency calls involving fallen trees, flood, blown out roofs, and landslides from January to 6th of November 2021. The public is advised to always be vigilant and cautious during uncertain weather conditions.

 

Programmes such as the Fire Marshal and Life Saver 995 courses as well as Fire Safety briefing are also held to increase knowledge on the dangers of fire, safety during emergency, and proper techniques on using fire extinguishers.

Businesses’ Preparation before the Opening of Economy

At the media conference, the Minister of Health explained the preparations that need to be done by businesses when the number of individuals who have received two doses of the vaccine reached 70 percent.

 

Yang Berhormat said businesses need to ensure that their premises are clean, employees have received two doses of the vaccine and make a Business Continuity Plan in case of infection among the workers during the endemic transition. The Minister of Health also advised the public not to believe or spread news that could be misleading. The public is also advised to be more alert with viral fake news.

National Vaccination Programme, 9 Violations Issued with Compound Fines

The Minister of Health also stated that on the 6th of November 2021, 7,257 individuals have received the COVID-19 vaccine injection.

 

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 355,420 individuals have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is 82.7 per cent of the total population. Meanwhile, 285,301 individuals have completed the second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, 66.3 per cent of the total population.

 

For ‘Operasi Pulih’ that was carried out recently from 8 in the evening to 4 in the morning, 9 violations of the directive nationwide were issued with compound fines, where 7 of them are violations of the out-of-house restriction.

40 New Cases, 158 Cases Recovered

 

 

40 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed, taking the total COVID-19 cases to 13,782. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al’Afiah, Ministry of Health.

 

There are 24 additional new cases to 8 existing active clusters who were previously close contacts with several positive cases. No new clusters have been reported, with 1 cluster closed following no new detected cases for 28 days, namely the Bukit Beruang Ops Cluster. Therefore, the current total active clusters are 183 clusters. 16 new cases are still being investigated to determine the source of the infection.

 

158 cases have recovered, bringing the total recovered cases to 12,603 cases, whereas the total number active cases are 1,085 cases. 6 cases are in Category 5 and currently treated at the Intensive Care Unit. All of them require assistance of artificial ventilation with 1 case requiring the help of additional heart/lung machine, ECMO. Meanwhile, 8 other cases are categorised in Category 4 that require oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. In the past 24 hours, 4,766 samples have been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, taking the total laboratory tests conducted since January 2020 to 533,431.
