20 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed yesterday bringing the total number of cases to 15,901. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health stated the matter during the Media Conference on the Latest COVID-19 Situation held at Dewan Al ‘Afiah, Ministry of Health yesterday afternoon. According to the Minister of Health, of the total, 15 are local cases while 5 are import cases. The number of new cases is from 967 laboratory tests carried out. Therefore, the rate of positive cases is 1.6 percent. Among the cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre, one case is in Category 4 requires oxygen assistance and under close monitoring. 28 cases have recovered, bringing the total recovered cases to 15,452 with 347 active cases. The Minister of Health also shared on the accomplishments of the National Vaccination Programme as of the 16th of January 2022.

 

The overall population rate who have received at least one dose of the vaccine is 94.7 percent. Meanwhile, the rate of those who have received two doses is 93.8 percent; while 33.1 percent have received three doses of the vaccine. The Ministry of Health also shared the results of a research that has been carried out in which between 9th to 15th of January 2022, there is no mukim with more than 40 cases, in which 19 mukims or 48.7 percent had between 1 to 40 cases. 20 mukims or 51.3 percent had zero cases. Meanwhile, the movement restriction carried out from 10 at night to 4 in the morning, one violation of the directive was recorded.
