Post: 19th Defence Services Asia Exhibition Showcases Cutting-Edge Military Technologies

Kuala lumpur: The 19th Defence Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition, known as DSA 2026, is currently taking place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur. Hosted, supported, and co-organised by the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia and Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference Sendirian Berhad, this event is regarded as one of Asia's leading defence and homeland security exhibitions. The delegation from the Ministry of Defence is led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. Key figures joining the delegation include Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and Mohd Aizul Hakim bin Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Suyoi, Acting High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the 19th DSA exhibition features advanced technologies, systems, military hardware, and electronic warfare capabilities from top global industry players. The event's opening ceremony was officiated by Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. Held concurrently with NATSEC Asia 2026, the exhibition has drawn participation from approximately 1,400 companies across 60 countries. It is expected to attract around 50,000 trade visitors from 114 countries and involve some 500 official delegations from 40 countries.

In addition to the exhibition, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence attended the 8th Putrajaya Forum, an international defence and security conference held alongside DSA 2026 and NATSEC Asia 2026. The forum, under the theme 'ASEAN Security at the Edge of Emerging Technologies', gathers policymakers, defence and security agencies, think tanks, and academicians to discuss pressing regional and international issues.

During a bilateral meeting with Yang Berhormat Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, Minister of Defence of Malaysia, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence expressed gratitude for the successful execution of DSA 2026 and NATSEC Asia 2026. Both sides reaffirmed the enduring defence relations between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, exchanged perspectives on bilateral and strategic matters of mutual interest, and emphasized their ongoing commitment to enhancing defence cooperation between the two countries.
